Something else we hope to do today is shop. Since we only brought 3 shirts and bottoms each, although we are not the stinky mess one might believe, we do need reinforcements...so we are purchasing some clothing. Will show you pics when they become available, but are buying traditional Indian clothing. I also want to get henna painted on my hand/s today. Sharma, our driver, knows just the place to take us. His daughter is also sending us to her favorite clothing story. Someone might have something made. Hmmm.
Okay, now I'm going to try to load some more pics. The country is a flurry of oranges and yellows and reds, and constant insence and food related aromas that invite you to lounge and submit to peace.
At the Taj Mahal the most interesting thing happened. There were people there from all over the world. There was a feeling of peace. People from all over the world walked around the pristine white marble monument, like saris churning into butter...Everyone spoke, made eye contact.
The most interesting thing happened when Carolyn and I sat down in front of the Taj, people, especially women would walk directly up to me smile into my eyes, extend a hand, and greet me with the warmest greeting. One whole family came up to me and did this. People wanted pictures taken with us and by us. Everyone communicated with their eyes. There was a feeling of purity, of abandon, of unabashed gentle peace at the Taj Mahal site. The first time I saw it, it caught my breath for a moment. Carolyn said, "I feel like I'm going to cry." It was a beautiful day.
