Only an hour-and-a-half before we leave for Tundla to catch the 11:30 p.m. train to Varanasi!
Today I got henna on my left hand and leg (no significance), and ended up walking with one shoe on and one shoe off to see the Red Fort, built by good old King Akbar (our friend from Fatehpur Sikri).
We got lots of great pictures which I cannot include because this hotel we're hanging out at doesn't have a memory card reader that can read my card.
We had a fiasco today, and tension is a little high, due to the only recent confirmation of booking of our overnight train and related incidents. Everybody has been most accommodating throughout this country, and kids have returned American coins we accidentally fumbled out of our money packs on more than one occassion.
Carolyn and I have been eating like pigs, both of us just really relishing in the cuisine of the country.
This morning before leaving the Sheritan, she had a manicure and pedicure and I had a hot rock, chakra-balencing massage...I mean, they even brushed my hair!! We're at the Clarks hotel now, just killing an hour more before our driver picks us up for Tundla. We both decided we're not Sheritan people, and are much more comfortable hanging with regular folk. We wandered the city, had three boys come up with charmed cobras, and found a terrific hole-in-the-wall internet cafe earlier today.
A good time will be had by all before this adventure is through...mark my words...and pray for us tonight. Love you all. Jacki
